Abstract
We measured the level of serum IgE and proportion of Fc¥åRII(+) lymphocytes in 10 healthy controls and 12 asymptomatic patients will allergic asthma. And we also observed IgE production of spontaneous and PHA-stimulated peripheral blood
mononuclear
cell
(PBMC) culture in 7 subjects of both groups.
The levels of serum IgE in patients with allergic asthma were significantly higher than those of healthy controls.
There was no significant difference between asthmatics and healthy controls in proportion of the Fc¥åRII(+) lymphocytes in PBMCs and no significant correlation was observed between the level of serum IgE and proportion of Fc¥åRII(+) lymphocytes.
As for the IgE levels of supernatant of PBMSC culture, no significant difference was observed between spontaneous and PHA-stimulated 6 culture days.
These findings may suggest that there is no close relationship between the level of serum IgE and Fc¥åRII experession on lymphocytes and PHA dose not increase IgE synthesis in vitro in allergic asthmatics.
